“Mosquito traps set in Dublin have confirmed positive for West Nile Virus for one section of the city.

This is the first time a trap in the city has tested positive for the virus in 2016.

The city is scheduled to spray the central area of the city Thursday.

The area to be sprayed is between Brand Road and Post Road, from the city’s western border to the Scioto River. Spraying is scheduled to begin around 9 p.m.

Officials in Dublin said it is not unexpected to see the virus in the area and tends to show up this time of year.

The city is reminding people to wear insect repellant containing DEET, limit outdoor activity at dusk and dawn and eliminate all standing water around your home (mosquitoes breed in water).
