Ruth La’Ontra and Leonard Scott chatted with Erica Campbell about her new song, “Kingdom,” which she says was written by Anthony Brown. Leonard Scott, the founder of the nation’s oldest black owned and operated gospel recording company, talked about being excited to have an artist such as her signed to his roster, and how versatile Ruth is as a singer. Ruth talks about the tough battle of overcoming the sudden passing of her aunt, who was like a mother to her. She explains that the process of healing from that took four years, and wasn’t only emotional and spiritual, but even her health suffered.
Leonard Scott also talks about being old school, but noticing something in Ruth’s artistry that speaks to both the traditional and the new. Ruth also talks about traveling with her baby and husband.
