Thank God it’s Monday! Mondays are usually frowned upon but I usually have my biggest smiles on Mondays. I get another opportunity to accomplish something for the week. I get another chance to get better. We should all be thankful for every day. I’m working to get there just like I’m trying to help change the narrative of Mondays. This week I am thankful to know that I am not alone.
We are living in an era where we are more socially connected than ever before. Though we are more socially connected the reality is that the suicide rate is continuing to rise. It is really mind boggling. We have the tools and access to connect and contact anyone in the world with a touch of a button, yet there are some of us that feel like we do not have access to anyone. If you are reading this I want you to be encouraged to know that as lonely as you may feel, you are surrounded by a God that has never left you.
Before social media, before text messages, before the pressures of acceptance, God was there. The same God is still here. You may not feel His presence. You may be wondering, “If he is there and knows that I feel alone then why does He not say something?” Those are valid feelings. I encourage you to give Him a chance and get out of your way. Take time to not be consumed by your thoughts and emotions and let your guard down for God to enter. Often times we rely on ourselves to fix ourselves when in all actuality we cannot make ourselves whole because we did not create us. God is active… Trust Him. You are loved and protected. You are here for a reason. You are not alone.
