Donald Trump takes over control of the country as the 45th President of the United States on this coming Friday, but after running a very negative campaign and promising lots and lots of almost unrealistic results, he is taking over with an approval rating right around 40%.  It’s the lowest of any recent President and actually 44 points lower than that of President Barack Obama when he took office; this according to a new CNN/ORC poll.

President Obama took office eight years ago with an approval rating of 84%.  President Clinton took office with an approval of 67% and President George Bush took office with a rating of 61%.

President-Elect Trump’s handing of the Transition of Power has giving most Americans growing doubts that he will be able to hand the job as the 45th President.  Statements made by him and some of his recent actions have give Americans less confidence.  The public is split evenly between Democrats and Republicans — 48% on each side.

Even the impressions of Trump has worsened since Election day; his disapproval of handling the transition has climbed seven points to 52%. Even the percentage of people that think he will do a good job has fallen 5 points.
