Fire crews responded around 8:15PM on March 9th after multiple 911 calls reported a fire and a loud explosion at 711 Elberon Ave. When they arrived, they found a four-family building engulfed in flames, with one of the exterior walls completely collapsed. A man was discovered lying in the front yard, and a total of four people—including two children—were rushed to the hospital.

A neighboring vacant building also sustained damage from the blast, and the main structure was later demolished due to severe instability. The explosion and fire displaced six people.

“While fires like these are always a tragic loss, the CFD FIU continues to do an outstanding job bringing justice to those who negatively impact our community,” said Cincinnati Fire Chief Frank McKinley.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full extent of the incident.
