Trump, Clinton Wage Scorched-Earth Debate:

Donald Trump will live to fight another day — but it took the nastiest, most bitterly personal presidential debate in recent memory for the Republican nominee to stanch the downward plunge.

Trump’s campaign was in free fall when he entered the debate hall Sunday night, reeling from the revelation of a 2005 video in which he spoke of women in lewd and sexually aggressive terms. The video sparked a dramatic rebuke of Trump, with dozens of Republicans in Washington and around the country saying the billionaire should step aside and let his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, lead the GOP ticket.

The icy tone was set early when decades of tradition eroded as Trump and Clinton declined to shake each other’s hand.

North Carolina Faces Severe Flooding In The Wake Of Matthew:

Matthew, the deadly storm that has wreaked havoc from the Caribbean to the Carolinas, has moved away from the East Coast but the storm will continue to take a toll on the southeastern United States.

By Sunday night Matthew, which at one point was a Category 5 storm, had been downgraded from a hurricane to a post-tropical cyclone as it moved hundreds of miles east of the North Carolina coast. Forecasters expect Matthew to die out in the Atlantic Ocean within the next 48 hours, meaning it won’t have a chance to loop back and hit land again as some had predicted

Nestle has announced a voluntary recall of its Drumstick ice cream cone products.

Nestlé Recalls Drumstick Ice Cream Cones After Listeria Test:

Nestlé launched a nationwide recall of some of its Drumstick ice cream cones after getting positive tests for Listeria in a California factory where the treats are made.

No one has been reported sick and none of the Drumstick products have tested positively for Listeria, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

The company got positive test results for Listeria on its equipment located on a production line at its facility in Bakersfield, California, according to a company statement.

NFL Teams May Now Get Fined For Their Social Media Posts:

A new league policy, which takes effect Wednesday, will result in fines of up to $100,000 for teams that break the rules.

From kickoff to an hour after the game, teams can no longer post their own video to social media. They can only re-post NFL-owned videos on Twitter and use Snapchat.

Teams also can’t livestream games or plays. For post-game press conferences, which can be livestreamed, only Periscope and YouTube Live can be used.

On non-game days, NFL teams can only post about 45 videos. That number includes gifs, livestreams and promotional videos for things like ticket sales and game day information.

On Kevin Morton’s first night in the operating room, he wasn’t wearing scrubs. His mind was reeling, his body shuddering and failing.

It comes back to him in flashes.

In July 2007, when he was 22, he was balancing college classes and working 48-hour weeks as the manager of a Detroit Arby’s. Shifts at the restaurant often lasted until after midnight, and this particular night was no exception. Morton dismissed his co-workers, finished his closing duties and walked out to the quiet parking lot alone.

“My car was in reverse when I saw the shadow (of a man) coming up,” Morton said.

There was a flash of light and a loud noise; Morton knew that he had been shot in the stomach. The man robbed him and ran away.
