What is beauty? According to our society, it is a face full of makeup, heels too high to walk in, a size 2
waist, long flowing locks and other made-up standards.
But that’s just not a good definition of beauty. What makes you beautiful can be found right in the
pages of the Bible. Here are 5 verses to teach you what is truly beautiful.
1. 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV) “Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing
gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible
beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.” There is nothing wrong
with being outwardly beautiful and well put together, but it should not be your main focus. As the word
of God says, “beauty is fleeting” (Proverbs 31:30). True beauty lies in a meek and humble heart.
2. Psalms 139:14 (NKJV) “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are
Your works, and that my soul knows very well.” You are beautiful because you are the handiwork of
God (Ephesians 2:10)! God looked at you and saw that you were good, so look in the mirror and see
it for yourself.
