Our phones have severed many roles for us in the world today, from being an alarm clock to a navigation system. Outside of all of these tools on our phone, we can spit children using them for so many times as well. With proper monitoring and the placement of parental controls, it can seem very common for a parent to allow their child to use their smartphone.
According to BusinessInsider.com, The World Health Organizations has provided guidance for the screen time children under 5 years old should receive. The article shared that children under 5 should not spend more than one-hour watching screens a day and kids under 1 year shouldn’t watch any screen at all.
Although other studies argue this guidance due to the benefits of digital media and add that you can’t truly measure the settings of screen time limits.
