A tragedy has hit Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday. According to ABC News, more than 200 people have been confirmed dead and hundreds were injured when explosions went off in churches and hotels in Sri Lanka. It is a shame that terror awaits no matter where you are. It’s not even safe to attend church anymore. The devil is busy, but our God is busier. My thoughts and prayers are with those who are hurting.
These are the victims from other countries that we know about so far, in addition to the Sri Lankans killed:
- 5 British citizens, including 2 US-UK dual citizens
- 3 Indians
- 2 Chinese
- 2 Turkish citizens
- 1 Dutch
- 1 Portuguese person
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that several US citizens were among those killed, though he did not say how many.
In addition, the Sri Lankan Foreign Ministry said in a statement earlier that nine foreign nationals were reported missing and that 25 unidentified bodies at the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer’s mortuary were believed to be foreigners.
At least 207 have been killed in the coordinated attacks on churches and hotels and hundreds more are injured.
