This new technology is expected to make shopping faster.

The time of boring grocery isles is about to be long gone. Kroger announced Monday that they will be working with Microsoft to test a digital shelf technology.

The Cincinnati based grocery chain reports “shoppers needing to find specific items on shelfs can use Kroger’s self-checkout scanning technology to see personalized icons on shelfs below the items. Shoppers can select a personalized icon that will appear on shelves as they enter store aisles.”

Monroe, Ohio will have a store testing out the technology before installing in nationwide.
