Britain's opposition Labour party plunged into turmoil Sunday and the prospect of Scottish independence drew closer, ahead of a showdown with EU leaders over the country's seismic vote to leave the bloc. Two days after Prime Minister David Cameron resigned over his failure to keep Britain in the European Union, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn faced a revolt by his lawmakers who called for him, too, to quit.

Brexit: Labour Party Crisis Deepens; Boris Johnson Calls For Unity:

As the United Kingdom wakes up to a new week, the full extent of the Brexit hangover is becoming apparent ahead of a flurry of meetings to start negotiating the UK’s exit from the European Union as quickly and as painlessly as possible.

Meanwhile, the opposition Labor Party is seeking to stop an exodus of key leaders ahead of a possible snap election, amid calls for calm from Boris Johnson, one of the main architects of the Leave vote and the potential candidate for the British prime ministership.

Clinton Leads Trump, Pair Of Polls Show:

Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race, two new polls of registered voters show — but they differ on the size of her advantage.

A Washington Post/ABC News survey shows Clinton ahead by 12 points, 51% to 39%.
A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, meanwhile, pegs Clinton’s lead at 5 points, 46% to 41%.
Trump is emerging from a difficult phase in his campaign, including the firing of campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, anemic fundraising and widespread blowback from his party over his labeling of an Indiana-born federal judge as “Mexican” and therefore biased in his Trump University legal proceedings.
