According to Fox 28, police and SWAT operatives converged on a Parklawn Blvd. apartment home at 3:00am Saturday morning, only to later find that a shooting suspect they believed to be inside had gotten away.

Whitehall Police sergeant Brian Smith said that witnesses reported the shooting suspect ran from the apartment where the shooting happened, and hid inside another vacant apartment nearby. Police commanded him to come outside and later swept the building, but could not find the man.

Police withheld the suspect’s name, pending an arrest, but said the man is known to law enforcement from previous interactions.

Neighbors in the complex were evacuated from their homes overnight and remained outside in the early-morning hours.

The investigation is ongoing.
