Columbus Police said a woman was killed Saturday night when she was hit by the driver of a vehicle as she rode in a motorized mobility chair.

The accident happened near the intersection of High Street and East Kanawha Avenue. Investigators are still trying to determine if the woman was in a crosswalk or if the driver went over the curb.

A short time later, police say a motorist was hurt when the lost control of their SUV and crashed through a window of a cafe inside the 10 Broad Street Tower.

Investigators said two vehicles were involved.  One person was rushed to Grant Medical Center. The area around Broad and High Street remained closed for more than an hour.

Crews moved in to clean up shattered glass and debris left on the sidewalk and make certain the building was secure.

No word on charges in either case.
