Hilliard Police want to get a message out to residents about potentially deceptive mail that could scam people. Some homes in Hilliard received a postcard advertisement for a loan and a request for the owner to take action soon. Police want you to know that this may be a scam that can bilk you out of thousands of dollars and ruin your credit.

Officer Matt Braden, said, “A member of our community calls these folks and then all of a sudden the services that were offered aren’t truly what you’re getting in the end.”

What should you do if you feel like a piece of mail may be a scam? Police say call the police, Better Business Bureau or Ohio Attorney General’s Office before taking advantage of any offers.
