Columbus police are investigating the death of a man found unresponsive inside a home Saturday morning.

According to Columbus Division of Police, officers were responded to a call in the 1100 block of East Mound Street just after 1 a.m. on the report of a man found not breathing.

When officers arrived to the scene they found an unconscious man inside the home, with no apparent injuries.

Police say, 30-year-old Daniel Brought Jr. was pronounced dead at the home.

The preliminary investigation, revealed that Brought had been involved in an altercation with his roommate much earlier in the evening, police say.

They say at this point it is unconfirmed if the altercation directly led to, or how the altercation contributed to the death of Brought.

Police are withholding the identity of the roommate pending further investigation.

An autopsy is being schedule to determine what caused Brought death.

Police have not charged the roommate at this time.

The incident remains under investigation.

This marks the 37th homicide for 2018.
