*Freeform’s “grown-ish” (Jan. 3, 2018, 8:00-8:31 p.m. EST) and Showtime’s “The Chi” got off to successful starts in terms of viewership, reports Variety.
“Grown-ish,” the spinoff of “black-ish” that follows eldest daughter Zoe (Yara Shahidi) during her freshman year in college, ranked as Freeform’s biggest series launch in two years among Total Viewers (1.562 million), Adults 18-49 (917,000), Women 18-49 (658,000), Women 18-34 (340,000) and Females 12-34 (448,000) – since “Shadowhunters” on 1/12/16, the network revealed Monday.
In the first 3 days after its launch, “grown-ish” generated 4.5 million views across linear and digital platforms, making the series the best digital debut in Freeform history. It was also Wednesday’s No. 1 most social cable series with 214,000 engagements across Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Tumblr.
