Her head is filled with worries

When you are struggling, whether physically or spiritually, it can be easy to fall into despair. You can

get so lost in the darkness of your troubles that you forget about the light at the end of the tunnel.

Keeping God at the center of your life when your world seems to be falling apart can be difficult, so

here are 5 things “thou shalt not” do when going through a wilderness experience

1.Thou shalt not throw a pity party. When you feel as though life is treating you unfairly, you

need to rework your perspective. If God allows you to go through something uncomfortable,

trust that it is for a good reason. Don’t get so caught up in your own feelings that you get down

on yourself, start believing God is against you and has forsaken you. Philippians 4:4 NIV says,

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!” And yes, that means even in the rough

times.

2. Thou shalt not become a recluse. Whether you are fighting against an attack of the devil

or an attack of the flesh, don’t fight by yourself. Form a group of believers. Get some

accountability partners. We all need somebody. That may be your family members or your

closest friends, but never go it alone. After all, 1 Corinthians 12:26 (ESV) says, “If one member

suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” Have people there

who will declare victory over your situation when you are at your wits’ end.
