Your promise existed before your desires. Many of days we get caught in gaining the material blessings from god that we lose sight of gaining God Himself. In your walk with Christ you will begin to notice that you can waste a lot of time that could be used on getting closer to Him and learning from Him. Don’t waste time, energy, or focus on what is not connected to Christ. This rule applies to your desires and wants as well.
