HILLIARD, Ohio

A semi-truck driver involved in a police chase halfway around the city of Columbus on I-270 has been charged with OVI.

Officials identified the driver as 63-year-old Barry Demings. Demings has also been charged with failure to comply with an order of a police officer and marked lane violations.

 

The chase could be seen on Ohio Department of Transportation cameras with a team of police cruisers in pursuit.

The semi was stopped at 270 north just south of Main Street on the city’s far east side more than 40 minutes later.

Hilliard Police said Demings was taken to Mount Carmel East for medical treatment.
