Gov. John Kasich says he supports repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act but not part of the plan being reported that Congressional Republicans wanting to phase out the expanded Medicaid program.

Kasich’s comments came during an appearance Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union” saying that part of the repeal plan is “a very bad idea.” The govenor says one-third of the 700,00 Ohioans who have medical coverage for mental health and substance abuse is wrong for his party “to turn our backs on them makes no sense.”

Kasich, who has been a critic of President Donald Trump since the 2016 election, also is attacking Trump on his ongoing battle with the free press.
