COLUMBUS, Ohio

A protest in downtown Columbus came to an end after police used mace on the crowd that was blocking traffic Monday evening.

The Columbus chapter of Socialist Alternative announced the march on the group’s Facebook page.

Members said they were protesting Trump’s policies on everything from immigration to border patrol, minimum wage, police force and the rights of the LGBTQ community.

The protest started at the Ohio Statehouse around 6:30 p.m. before the group marched to the Franklin County Courthouse.

Protesters returned to the area around the Statehouse but were blocking traffic along State and High Streets.

Police said they warned the protesters multiple times to leave the street but when they did not comply, officers used mace. No arrests were made as a result of the protest.
