No one saw this coming as ACC Conference champs Clemson literally shut out Ohio State from scoring a point in the Fiesta Bowl, and move on to face Alabama in the NCCA National Championship game.

The Buckeyes were unproductive on both sides of the ball wh9ch ended them losing 31-0. An Ohio State offense that averaged 479.5 yards per game managed just 215 in Saturday’s game. The Buckeyes’ ground game, ranked ninth nationally (258 yards per game), struggled to get 88.

J.T. Barrett failed to earn his first bowl game and possible championship as starting quarterback. Barrett and the team won the national title in 2014 but with quarterback Cardale Jones when Barrett sat to injuries. The junior completed 19 of 33 passes for 127 yards, was intercepted twice and sacked three times. He ended the game with 11 carries for minus-2 yards.

The Buckeyes’ Urban Meyer was shut out for the first time in his illustrious head coaching career.
