“COLUMBUS, Ohio — A portion of the Sheraton Suites in north Columbus near Worthington has been evacuated due to a police situation at the hotel.
The hotel is located on Hutchinson Avenue at Crosswoods near US-23 and I-270.
Columbus Police say a murder suspect has barricaded himself inside the hotel. Columbus SWAT officers were called to the scene.Authorities say marshals arrived at the hotel Thursday morning to serve a warrant on the suspect when he barricaded himself in a room.
Several floors were evacuated and negotiators are at the hotel attempting to get the suspect to leave the room.
All of westbound I-270 was shut down at I-7I due to the incident. That stretch of the interstate runs directly behind the hotel.
Hotel guests told 10TV crews that they were told to evacuate due to an active shooter incident.
