Procter & Gamble to Cut 7,000 Jobs

Procter & Gamble is preparing to cut 7,000 jobs over the next two years… A move that will impact about 6% of its global workforce and 15% of its non-manufacturing roles.
The local based company says the cuts are part of a broader “restructuring” effort aimed at driving growth and staying competitive against rising costs and shifting consumer habits. The news came during a presentation Thursday at the Deutsche Bank Global Consumer Conference in Paris, led by P&G executives Andre Schulten and Shailesh Jejurikar.

It’s not yet clear where those job losses will land geographically or by department, and no specifics have been shared about how many could affect workers at the Cincinnati locations.
“This is not like the federal government just came in and told people, ‘Pack up and leave,’” said Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney on Thursday. “We’re talking about a thoughtful two-year process. Procter & Gamble has a great reputation for taking care of its employees.”
The numbers are still significant though. P&G employs about 108,000 people worldwide. The job cuts come as the company prepares for what it expects to be a $600 million tariff-related hit in the 2026 fiscal year.
P&G joins a growing list of major companies scaling back this year, including Microsoft and Starbucks. Their stock also dipped slightly Thursday following the news.
