Creed actor Michel B. Jordan and other celebrities star in a short film created by Harry Belafonte about police brutality. The film mixes audio from recent police shootings, where you can hear a mix and news reportings and police dispatches minutes before a black man or woman was killed.
“The constant vilification of people of color is not new to the American psyche. Somehow cell phone video, dash cam video and news media flashing before our very eyes, hour after hour, the murder and victimization of black and brown bodies has desensitized us,” says Belafonte.
“We are shining a light and calling out to all to take a look, listen and feel within your heart to take action,” he added.
Other celebrities in the film include Van Jones, Marc Lamont Hill, Michael K. Williams and Danny Glover as they help portray the narrative: Black is not a weapon.
