Christina rapper Lecrae is not allowing any criticism steer him away from making his voice heard in the black movement. The Grammy winner took the stage at the BET Hip Hop Awards to talk about racism and police brutality.

We reported earlier that some of his evangelical fan base are speaking out against him on his “radical” stance. For The Destination Tour, the rapper uses a logo with a black fist to show a symbol of resistance and unity. Many feel he should go back to speaking about the word and faith of God. However, Lecrae politely disagrees and addresses the criticisms.

“I know you like, ‘Is this rap or is this gospel?’ Look all you need to know is I was blind, now I’m not.”
