Ok, there is enough going on in our city and nation as a whole, we don’t need clowns walking around threatening our children. These clowns are now popping up at local schools in a central Ohio. A picture posted on Instagram by a group called “Aint Clowning Around” had parents and students concerned in Grove City today according to 10TV. At this point, the Grove City police are aware. According to this Instagram post, there are other clown sightings in Mansfield, Lancaster, Newark, Galion, Marion and Guernsey County.

As you know, the safety and security of our students is one of our highest priorities. Overnight, the Grove City Police Department received a number of calls from parents who were concerned about some inappropriate and potentially threatening social media posts. The GCPD indentified the original source of the posts and officers conducted a threat assessment. We are confident that our staff and students are as safe today as any other school day.
As a precautionary measure, the GCPD will have an increased presence at CCHS today. Thank you.
