A United Airlines passenger traveling from Aspen, Colorado to Denver arrived in Denver with $130,000 in jewelry missing from her cosmetic case. The United Airlines employee Rafael Magana, 42 of Commerce City, Colorado has been charge with felony theft on one count.
The missing jewelry was a pair of diamond earrings, valued at $35,000, and a Pearl encrusted bracelet also valued at $35,000.
Denver Police executed a search warrant and video surveillance in the Denver Airport appears to show Rafael Magana taking possession of the cosmetic case where the jewelry was stored.
So I ask you the frequent traveler — what do you carry with you when you are traveling? What do you take on-board as carry-on and what to do pack in your bags that go under the plane. For your safety, carry all expensive items with you and never let them get out of your sight!!! Word to the Wise!!
