NBC4i is reporting that The Environmental Working Group says chromium-6, a cancer causing chemical, has been found in the water system of Central Ohio.  This includes all five water systems of Franklin, Crawford, Delaware, Fayette, Licking, Knox, Marion, Union, and Marion counties.  The test was conducted between 2013-2015 and noted that Columbus Department of Utilities had the ninth highest level of chromium-6 in the country.

You can remove chromium-6 with water filtration systems.   It has been found that an ion exchange water treatment unit is most affective.  No word on what will be done locally to solve this issue.
